The other week Becky from the fabulous 3 princesses and 1 dude tagged me on Instagram to take part in the 20 facts meme. What a brilliant way for me to share a little bit more about the lady behind the blog (or Instagram profile).
I decided then and there that I would share my 20 facts with you, dear reader. Also, as a special Brucie Bonus I am adding in another 5 facts for good measure:
1. My first name is Lucy (drum roll, please)!
Pleased to meet you! |
3. I've never smoked in my life.
4. At school my favourite subjects were Classical Civilisation and Religious Studies and my least favourite was P.E. Clearly, I was a very cool kid who was hugely popular!
5. I once had a killer rabbit called Smokey. She murdered two of my other rabbits (R.I.P Loppy #1 and Loppy #2).
6. I have only been a bridesmaid once. In August of this year.
7. I met Mr H whilst on a day's work experience in a fundraising office.
8. At university I got a first for an essay that I wrote on pornography.
9. I don't have my ears pierced.
10. I hate spooky movies. Mr H and I once watched The Blair Witch Project together. I was so terrified that I made him stay awake all night long. I insisted that we have the lights on and that he talk to me continuously.
11. I studied Classical Civilisation and Ancient History at university.
12. I once did a week long Battlefield First Aid Course at a military base in Aldershot. If you ever have multiple shrapnel wounds in your stomach then I'm ya gal!
13. As a teenager I was obsessed with Take That. My bedroom walls were covered in almost a thousand pictures of them.
14. I found labour very painful but hugely empowering.
15. My first memory is of being terribly scalded whilst on holiday in France. I was three. I had to stay in a French hospital for a few days. I remember a nurse holding me up to the window so that I could wave goodbye to my parents.
16. I got so drunk the first time I met Mr H's oldest friends that I threw up on them.
17. The next time I saw them I stuck an eye liner pencil in my eye. I had to go to hospital the next day because I had given myself an abrasion on my cornea.
18. The third time I saw them I fell off a curb and broke my wrist.
19. I used to act in school plays - I was always cast in male roles.
20. I once escorted Christopher Nolan (the director of "Batman Begins" and "Inception") to the toilets and lost him there. There was only one exit. He did not exit through it. However, minutes later he appeared in another room. It was like a scene from one of his movies.
21. I failed my grade three piano exam.
22. I spent my 21st birthday watching La Boheme at the Sydney Opera House.
23. I spent my 30th birthday having a five course meal on a beach with Mr H. We were on our honeymoon in the Maldives. It was during the Maldivian elections and one of the political parties was holding a very raucous rally on the island opposite. It was an amusing juxtaposition.
24. One of the reasons Mr H loves me is because I am a bigger geek than he is.
25. I passed my driving test on the fifth attempt.
There you have it. A plethora of information about Mrs H. It is nice to know you a little better. I don't want this to be all about me though. Please share a fact about yourself in the comments.
Hugs
Mrs H

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment lovely. I am surprised Mr H actually married me after that or even wanted to date me longer than a few months. I was a nightmare. And as for Christopher Nolan - I'm thinking a doppelgänger or hologram. Only logical explanation. Hugs Lucy xxxx
DeleteBrilliant facts! I don't have anything as amusing or interesting!xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and staying to comment. I had to have a long hard think to come up with these facts. I even roped Mr H in but he was no help at all. I hope to see you in this neck of the woods soon. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
DeleteAmazing facts, why were you escorting Christopher Nolan-did you work in film? I hate scary movies too (and Halloween Simpsons' specials)-you made me lol about being popular at school! You sound ace!
ReplyDeleteI actually have a post titled 20 Funny Things You Didn't Know About Me I wrote ages ago but have on my About Page if you fancy a read: http://honestmum.com/tag/20-funny-things-you-didnt-know-about-me/
Sadly, I haven't done anything as glamorous as work in film. I worked at UCL and was on the team running the event when Christopher Nolan was receiving his honorary doctorate. That same night I had to stand guard as Nick Ross from Crimewatch changed into his tux. It was a very surreal evening.
DeleteI am so happy that I am not the only person who finds the Simpsons Halloween specials scary. Some of them are terrifying! I also can't even watch the trailers to horror movies without getting nightmares. It is so tragic. Especially, as Mr H adores horror films. The scarier and more gruesome the better. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

ReplyDeleteThanks darling. I've just had a read and commented. A great post. You definitely sound like someone that I'd love to have a cocktail with! Hugs xxxx
DeleteAh huni this is so weird, I ended up in hospital in France when I was three! I hate spooky films too. I loved reading more about you huni and thank you so much for sharing with #TheList
ReplyDeleteAhhhh you are so lovely and thanks for your gorgeous comment. I am so sorry that you ended up in a French hospital too. I was covered in bandages from head to toe and had to say "je voudrais faire pipi" when I needed the toilet. It was a unique first sentence to learn of a different language. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
DeleteWell hello Lucy!! I bloody love this list - I was thrilled to hear that threw up on someone and you're an expert in pornography. I'm not a fan of scary films either but seriously, the Blair Witch Project!?! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking in, it was great to find out some more about you!
#TheList
Hi Hannah. I am so sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Unforgivable! I am glad you liked my list of facts. Thankfully the person I threw up on has forgiven me and is now a very good friend. I am very proud of my pornography knowledge. And what can I say about The Blair Witch Project other than that I am a complete wimp! Pitiful. Totally pitiful. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
DeleteLove this Lucy you have so many interesting facts and I too hate scary films x
ReplyDeleteHello honey. Thanks for visiting. I really struggled to come up with these facts. I originally wanted to post 30 but I had to reign that idea back as a I realised it was impossible. Hugs Lucy xxxx

ReplyDeleteHi Julia. Thanks so much for visiting and thanks for hosting #SundaysStars. You should definitely do something similar for your about page. I am very nosey and love to learn random facts about people. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
DeleteLove this list!! I failed my driving test three times then gave up and went off to Uni. I now need to start again, 15 years later.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to buck the trend here and confess I love a good scary movie!!
I take it you stayed away from Mr H's friends after that?!
Might do a similar list soon!! #sundaystarsLove this list!! I failed my driving test three times then gave up and went off to Uni. I now need to start again, 15 years later.

Hello honey. Thanks for your lovely comment. I'm glad I inspired you to do a list of your own. Surprisingly I didn't stay away from Mr H's friends. Although they did suggest that he start carrying me around all swaddled in bubble wrap to avoid future accidents. Hugs Mrs H xxxxx
DeleteHow strange I could have sworn I'd already commented on this post! I've loved learning mre about you and that you are a geek just like I am! You really know how to make a first (and second, and third!) impression don't you love! Thanks for linking this up to #SundayStars xxx
